The science behind Gisello's patient-centric approach

We built Gisello on three kinds of evidence: what patients told us, what the Gisello Scientific Board knows from the clinic, and what published research shows.

A pregnant woman at home
Patients
What our patients in the UK tell us

They carry the whole journey alone

Nearly 170 women in the UK who had looked into or had fertility treatment told us what it really takes.

61.5%
spent 26 hours or more organising their treatment
87.0%
at least partly fund their treatment themselves
75.7%
paid out of pocket for support around the treatment
57%
looked abroad because of cost; 47% because of NHS waits
Patients

The same documents, sent again and again

That is why your records live in one private vault, and why no clinic sees anything until you say yes.

62.1%
sent records to two or more organisations
59.1%
sent the same documents twice or more
47.0%
changed what they did because of privacy

The Gisello Scientific Board

Built with experts, from the clinic side

The Gisello Scientific Board builds the fertility journey with us: which medical records we ask for, which blood tests your case needs, and what a clinic must show before it can be matched to you. More on the board soon.

How we asked

Honest about what this can and can't tell you

Online survey of nearly 170 women in the UK, 9 August to 23 September 2026. Respondents chose to take part, so the figures are directional, not a measure of all UK patients (about ±7.5 points). We publish the base for every figure and repeat the survey as Gisello grows.
